I am a Counselling Psychologist and Cognitive Hypnotherapist. I am originally from Greece, but completed my studies in the UK, and have worked in both Private and NHS practice. Working in both these arenas has enabled me to develop an excellent understanding of people from all backgrounds.

As a counselling psychologist and hypnotherapist and witnessing my clients’ personal and professional transformations, alongside being able to be a part of their journey is something uniquely important to me.

I love my job and I feel fortunate to be able to deliver psychotherapy and hypnotherapy to help people achieve a happier and more fulfilling life. I am a sensitive person with a lot of understanding and acceptance of others. For me each person is different and for that reason my approach is integrated and adaptable to individual needs.

Fluent Greek and English.

I practice Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Behaviour Hypnotherapy (CBH). Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based treatment proven to help people with a variety of problems such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem and confidence. The main principle is that our thoughts affect our mood and consequently our behaviour. In therapy, you will learn how to identify and modify your thoughts, which quickly results in you feeling and acting differently. You will learn techniques and coping strategies to help you deal with and manage difficult situations outside the therapy room. In CBT, the client and therapist have an equal, collaborative relationship working towards the client’s best outcome.

Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH) is a technique that can help you change your feelings, thoughts and behaviour quickly. It can help you to either stop a behaviour, for example, binge eating or to enhance a behaviour, for example acting more confidently. CBH combines hypnosis with the theory, applications and principles from CBT. Hypnosis is a very pleasurable and safe experience. We have all experienced natural states of hypnotic trances without even realising it. For example, when we are absorbed in a film or when we are in a meeting but our mind flies away to something else. These are both forms of self-hypnosis.

I work collaboratively; we will explore your difficulties and I will help you by giving emotional support and practical advice about how to resolve them. In therapy you will learn how to manage and change your negative feelings and thoughts so that they are not so overwhelming. You will learn new tools and techniques to deal with practical problems. Life can be challenging at times. However, in my experience, change is possible. Using creativity, encouragement, compassion, humour and honesty, I commit with you on this journey.

As well as face-to-face sessions I provide Skype Therapy and/or telephone sessions tailored to accommodate the needs of busy professionals or people from different time zones.
