Having achieved a mid-life career transition after leaving the field of entertainment, music and films, I have built almost 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist and counsellor. Covering a broad spectrum of life experiences, I’ve had extensive experience working both in private practice as well as residential and outpatient addiction treatment centres in both the UK and the USA.

From October 2013 to December 2017 I worked as a primary therapist at Caron Ocean Drive, a high-end residential rehabilitation centre in Florida. Prior to that I worked part-time at Charter, Harley Street from 2011 to 2013 and Life Works Community between 2006 and 2010 while running concurrently my own private practice. From 1999 to 2004 I worked at a men’s maximum-security prison and a women’s prison from 2007 to 2009.

I specialise in mental health and wellbeing, relationship issues, grief, depression and generally repetitive patterns of behaviour as well as all the addictions.

I have a Masters Degree in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling and have completed several workshops with Pia Mellody, Rokelle Lerner and Patrick Carnes. I have a Diploma as an Archetypal Consultant from Caroline Myss’ CMED. My thesis “Murderers’ weapons, a psychoanalytic look at the symbolic re-enactment of childhood trauma” has been presented at international conferences and had excerpts included in an upcoming forensic series.

I also consult for various specialist TV programmes, radio and press, as well as occasional freelance work with artists in both film and entertainment. I began my career in the music business and worked with many musicians and bands, in management, production, touring and videos and have lived in many countries all over the world.

I’ve also had a few articles published both here and in the USA, including the Journal of Forensic Psychiatry. I’ve given several talks on Sex and Love Addiction, what they call cross-addiction and hosted workshops on Sex and Love Addiction and Co-dependency.

English and French with basic Spanish.

My clinical approach is Integrative, which is a combination of a few approaches and models including aspects from Jungian, Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, CBT and Transactional Analysis as well as embracing the 12 steps model if required. While this strives to give focus to deeper psychological understanding, there is also the opportunity to work in practical, solution-focused ways with clients for the best methods of support and this combination aims to help achieve the fullest potential possible. It can also help to get the best value from the courageous, but often painful process of challenging ourselves; of facing our fears and tackling the hardest situations that life can throw at us. The aim is to learn about yourself by looking at any difficulties or issues you are going through.

As well as face-to-face sessions I provide Skype Therapy and/or telephone sessions tailored to accommodate the needs of busy professionals or people from different time zones.
